For more than 90 years, our scouts have been lucky to have access to great facilities throughout Ridley, from Edgewood Elementary, to St. Madeline’s and Holmes Presbyterian Churches. We also own two scout cabins, in Woodlyn and Leedom Estates—which provide us our own grounds to conduct outdoor programs in a comfortable setting.
Being prepared isn’t just for scouts.
Thanks to stable volunteer leadership, our units are well funded and equipped. We provide tents, camping stoves, cooking gear, lanterns, firewood, and many of the needs for our outings. We own our own trailer for transporting our gear, and provide transportation to/from most of our outings. Scouts are responsible for their own uniforms, sleeping bags, backpack, mess kit, and Scout Handbook.
Our leadership wants Scouting to be available to every boy and girl, so we offer fundraising opportunities where the scouts can work to offset their own fees—in some cases “paying their own way” for their entire year.
